Transforming Lives Through Education: The Philippo Macedonian Foundation Scholarship Scheme

Empowering the Next Generation Through Education

Philippo Macedonian Foundation believes that education is a powerful tool that opens doors to opportunities and lifts families out of poverty. Yet millions of children worldwide are deprived of quality education due to financial hardships. According to UNICEF, over 244 million children and youth globally are out of school due to financial struggles, displacement, and crises.

At the Philippo Macedonian Foundation, we believe that every child deserves access to education, regardless of their background. Our scholarship scheme provides hope to underprivileged children, covering tuition, accommodation, feeding, and essential supplies to help them learn, grow, and achieve their dreams.

Restoring Hope: The Story of the Salami Family

For Oluwaseun and Mary Salami, life took a tragic turn when their mother suffered an acid attack, leaving their family in distress. With financial struggles and little hope for education, their future seemed bleak.

On September 26, 2013, after reading their heartbreaking story in Punch Newspaper, Dr. Ayanlowo, the proprietor of Divine Life Ministries, stepped in. Through the Philippo Macedonian Foundation, he offered full scholarships, ensuring they could continue their education despite the hardships.

Oluwaseun received a scholarship and excelled academically, completing his Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting at the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro. He is now serving his country.
His younger sister, Mary, who joined the scholarship programme in primary 1, has now finished her secondary school. Taiwo and Kehinde, their other siblings, are also beneficiaries and are currently in SSS2, continuing their journey towards a brighter future.

However, their mother, Mrs. Abosede Sherifat Salami, still suffers the aftermath of the attack. Despite ongoing support, she urgently needs plastic surgery to restore her face and neck. We appeal to kind-hearted individuals to help her get the medical treatment she desperately needs.

Saving a Life, Securing a Future: The Story of Abraham Alaya

Imagine a 15-year-old boy left to die, abandoned by most of his family due to a life-threatening leg infection. This was Abraham Alaya’s reality in the rural town of Ipapo, Oyo State.

During one of our free medical outreaches at the Jesus Power Crusade, we discovered Abraham in dire condition. His untreated wound left him isolated, waiting for the inevitable. But we refused to let his story end there.

Immediate Action Taken:

  • Emergency medical care at Olabisi Onabanjo Teaching Hospital
  • Months of treatment fully sponsored by our foundation
  • Full educational scholarship from Primary 2 onwards

Today, Abraham is thriving in school, proving that education can transform lives when given a chance. His mother, once struggling, now has stable employment within our institution.
